Jean-Pierre Goeseels

“Simon & Garfunkel say it all for me: when times get rough, we need to dry the tears and stand by each other. Like a Bridge over Troubled Water. That's the spirit we need in Tervuren.”

Jean-Pierre Goeseels

Born and raised in a bilingual family in Brussels, Jean-Pierre navigated both Dutch and French cultures from an early age, later expanding his horizons with a rewarding exchange year in the US. Fluent in Dutch, French, and English, and conversant in several other languages, Jean-Pierre's cosmopolitan experience enriches his ability to connect with Tervurenaars from all walks of life.

Jean-Pierre now devotes his time to volunteering in and outside Tervuren, assisting elderly people, individuals with disabilities, and supporting primary school pupils with their homework. As a certified volunteer neighbors mediator in Flemish Brabant and an active member of Fietsersbond Tervuren, he remains deeply engaged in his community. Married with three children, Jean-Pierre also channels his passion for music as a baritone in a choir.

Inspired by the lyrics of Simon & Garfunkel’s "Bridge Over Troubled Water," Jean-Pierre’s philosophy is clear: he stands ready to support and uplift those around him, particularly during tough times. His alignment with Volt's priorities reflects his dedication to bridging the gap between Europe and local issues, with a strong focus on energy transition and mobility. Jean-Pierre’s attentive ear and unwavering support are the cornerstones of his commitment to serve as a bridge for his community.

A graduate of Solvay Business School, his international career in marketing and sales took him across the globe, from founding a commercial office in Cairo to holding key executive roles at Sabena, Columbus and the International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi).
