Meet Volt Europa Etterbeek

Think European, Act Local

Vote Volt Europa Etterbeek for the local elections on 13 October

Our European Vision

Volt Europa is the first pan-European party, driven by progressive values and a pragmatic approach. Active in 30 European countries, and powered by the work of local councillors elected in seven countries, Volt Europa’s cross-border approach enables citizens to learn how shared challenges are addressed in other countries.

For a Volt-powered Etterbeek

Meet our candidates

1- Smart and green public spaces

From underground waste disposers to urban vegetable gardens to the installation of public drinking fountains, we aim for practical climate adaptation measures to improve the quality of life of residents from day 1.

2- Digital and flexible public services for citizens and businesses

Smart, multilingual services will support residents from the first day of registration. As proposed by Volt in Darmstadt, Germany, local restaurants  should be able to count on public services to implement take-away orders without the intermediation of a third party.

3- The commune of European cultures

With 50.83% of foreign residents, Etterbeek is a miniature world. We aim for the renovation and expansion of the House of Flemish Culture “de Maelbeek”. A rejuvenated de Maelbeek has the potential to celebrate the many cultures of Etterbeek with leisure, cultural activities and festivals.

4- Sustainable and safe mobility

Volt Europa Etterbeek will promote the implementation of clear and recognisable standards for bike paths across the commune. It will work for increasing the number of secure parking places for bikes and cargo bikes, exploring the adaptation of unused public spaces

5- An affordable commune for all

Volt proposes to raise the share of public social housing from 5,2% to 8%, while supporting other sorts of social vocation housing, following the example of Vienna. Key locations like the Leopold Clinic and the former Town Hall shall be part of this vast plan.
