By now we can no longer ignore the consequences of climate change. It is even noticeable in Leuven.
In recent years, our city has not cooled sufficiently during heat waves and there's a threat of water shortages, while at the same time more and more residents are faced with flooding.
As a modern, advanced and social city, we can play an exemplary role in Leuven. We can show all of Belgium, and all of Europe, that things can be better! In this way we make our city more pleasant to live in and resilient to change. Tackling climate change does not have to be at the expense of our enjoyment of life; on the contrary. Clean energy, clean air, and a green Leuven full of shady, relaxing places benefits us all. Being a forerunner in climate-friendly solutions can even give the city an economic boost.
